Description
The MIDI8d is a 4HP wide, simple and versatile, Eurorack module that can output 8 Digital clocks or gates, from a MIDI TRS input connection.
If you want to output CV/analog signals, please have a look at the MIDI8d+!
The core of the MIDI8d is the classic Arduino Nano (not included).
Different firmware variants (Arduino sketches) can be uploaded into the Arduino, to adapt or completely change the behavior of the MIDI8d.
Typical uses are:
8 Drums outputs, reacting to MIDI Channel 10 (notes 36 to 43)
MIDI Clock ticks, with various time divisions and Start/Stop Gate outputs
and many more!
Open source firmware can be found here: https://github.com/dhaillant/midi8d/
The module is made of 2 PCBs:
the Front PCB supporting all the jack connectors
the Rear PCB supporting the Arduino Nano and the power input.
The MIDI input jack is a Stereo (TRS type A) connector.
Many components are in Surface Mount Technology (SMT), which can be intimidating. Check out the new pre-assembled SMD stuff option. With this option, the only remaining components to solder are classic Through Hole.
